European Volunteers for Response of Emergencies in the Caribbean

The Project EVRECA! Is reaching the final stages of its activity

This Week, the consortium partners and the Volunteers deployed met in a final workshop to draw some conclusions of the intense activities that have seen committed in the past 15 months: 16 EU Aid volunteers, Civil Protection agencies of 2 Caribbean countries, CDEMA (the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency), CIMH (Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology), 7 Voluntary Organizations, CIMA Research Foundation and the Italian Department of Civil Protection as a leading partner.

Speakers included representatives from:

Associazione Nazionale Pubbliche Assistenze (ANPAS) – Italy Corpo Italiano di Soccorso dell’Ordine di Malta (CISOM) – Italy
Asociația Serviciul de Ajutor Maltez în România (SAMR) – Romania
Croce Rossa Italiana (CRI) – Italy
Societatea Națională de Cruce Rosie din România (CRR) – Romania
Magyar Máltai Szeretetszolgálat (MMSZ) – Hungary

Overseas partners:

The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH)
The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) of Grenada
The Department of Disaster Management of the British Virgin Islands (DDM)

And a rappresentative of DG ECHO.

Con il rientro in Italia dei volontari impiegati nelle tre squadre attive sul campo (Alpha, Bravo e Charlie), è giunta al termine la fase operativa del progetto EVRECA! (European Volunteers for Response of Emergencies in the Caribbean – Volontari europei per la rispota alle emergenze nei Caraibi), di cui ci siamo già occupati in passato. È quindi arrivato il momento per le prime considerazioni e valutazioni.
